The 29th of December we decided to use one of the PwC perks and head into the city to go to the Museum of Natural History for free. All said, it was an ok museum, we didn't get to see much of it because the kids got tired and hungry, but it was a fun trip. Please take note: the kids hats...my mom made them all a hat for Christmas! We love them mom! Thanks so much!
Because the kids were tired we left a bit early from the Museum and took them to see Central Park instead. We grabbed them a pretzel from a vendor on the street then headed into the park to show them the Belvedere Castle. We loved it! It was a nice walk and it was pretty warm that day too. We loved the park until the hunger set in so we took the kids for some great burritos and nachos at a restaurant we just happened upon. After dinner we realized we weren't quite ready to go home so we decided to take a chance and see if we could get close enough to see the Rockefeller tree.
We got across the street from Radio City, about a block from the tree, saw the crowds and decided we valued our lives and turned around and headed for home. Definitely NOT an extra block I ever want to take with my kids! The crowds were exactly what everyone says they are...NOT WORTH IT! We really had a good time in the city though. We took the bus in so we didn't have to worry about parking, then took the subway everywhere else. The kids LOVED taking public transportation. They are quite good at surfing on the subway!
