Brian had the day off so we wound up at the shore. It was looking pretty good until we were about an hour into the drive when it started raining. That did not stop us! We got to Asbury Park and had a great time on the shore. Pretty soon there was lightning and thunder and the life guards kicked us out. We took that as our opportunity to grab some lunch and check out a thrift store for a boogy board. (We didn't find one)
Once we got done we went back to the shore. We found a different beach and had a blast! We burried the kids, built COOL sandcastles, played football, ducked under waves, jumped waves, ran head long into them...IT WAS GREAT!
We had a bit of dinner then went back to the shore. The moon was out and it was beautiful on the water. We took a walk along another beach and found that the sound of the waves absorbed the sound from the boardwalk....so it was pretty quiet too! Until....we heard fireworks! We jumped in the van and chased down the firework show.
It was incredible! We actually ended up in some guys field! The smell of the field sent a shiver up my spine! I haven't been in a field in almost 2 years now! I used to live in the middle of one! IT was great being back! The fireflies were out in full force and the fireworks were amazing! We loved just spending time together as a family.
