Charity Is Awesome!

Charity saved the day again! The Lincoln Park Library was having a bug party today. It was wonderful! The kids got a ticket as they walked through the door which held numbers for door prizes. They got to guess how many bugs were in a jar, eat ice cream with more toppings than you could ever imagine! There was a lady making the kids balloon creatures. The boys got aliens, the girls got flying mice. (She made the tails really long so when you pull on the tail and let go it shoots the mice in the air.)
The Librarian drew tickets out and each one of the kids got a fun door prize. Brock picked an inflatable grasshopper, Hannah got a stuffed Lady Bug, Ethan wanted the ceramic jungle animals that you paint on your own, Ysabel got a box full of bug books, stickers, tattoos, color pages, and facts, Sydney and Serena got a bunch of bubble toys and bubbles.

Once most of the people left (our kids were still in line for their balloon creatures) the Librarian came up to me and told me how impressed she was with our children and their good manners. She had left over door prizes and wanted each kid to get one of each of the prizes. In the box was a bug net, bug catcher, bug bookmark, wind up ladybug, and bug book covers. I suppose there is something said to having good manners! Our kids got twice the prizes just for being patient and respectful. I was pretty darn pleased with the little whipper-snappers!
