Relay For Life

A few weeks ago we got to be a part of Relay for Life. The kids, myself, Fran & Casey and their two girls, Christina and Daniela, Donn and his daughter Victoria, Melissa and her daughter Nic went down to the High School to participate. Unfortunately we got there two hours early so we weren't actually involved in the real thing...but since I have tons of family who have had cancer and have it now and that we have lost to it we decided to stay and walk anyway! Just to show our support. We even paid the registration fee cause we are serious about this one!

So we walked to honor Daniela! She will celebrate her remission in July! This is one strong baby! She is a keeper and a fighter! We are so glad Heavenly Father let us keep her around here! We love her smiles and the constant giggles that she always seems to have! She is wonderful! We are so thankful for you kiddo!

We also walked for Grandma Katie and Aunt Cynthia who battled breast cancer and won! For Cousin Eric who had non hodgkins and won! For Cousin Landon who had liver cancer and won! For Uncle Delynn for winning the fight against prostate cancer! Cousin Tye Tullis for fighting testicular cancer and wining! We give you all a huge WAHOOOOOOOO!

We also walked for Cousins Cody and Robert who are currently fighting the battles they have before them and pray for you daily! We love you!

And of course...we walked for Grandpa Fielding and Uncle Richard who fought hard and long and won their batttle in a different way...by returning to live with Heavenly Father! For Grandpa's brother Steve who fought and won the same way Grandpa did. For Uncle Duane, Aunt Judy and Uncle Craig who also won their battle by returning home. We miss you all, and love you!

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to be an annual participant in the Relay for Life! I remember sitting in Chemo with Grandpa and feeling so helpless, visiting Eric in the hospital and just wanting to cry my eyes out! Having to sit by and hear how hard family and friends were/are having it and not being able to help at all...it was and is tough! Not that walking a track for a few hours takes any real relief from the patient, but it made me feel better, like for once I could do something to help a little. Its a great cause...I would like to encourage everyone to look for the closest Relay for Life and get a group together so you can walk it and contribute!
